Is Everything Fine?
Everything is not fine
when a handful of psychopaths are deciding the fate of all terrestrial life,
when the Earth is treated as a thing to be profited from,
when the oceans are treated like garbage bins,
when you have to spend almost one-third of your life in cages,
when the entire life is spent in anxiety, worriers, and fear,
when the animals’ homes are snatched away from them,
when weapons manufacturers are creating demands for their products,
when the TV pundits keep everyone confused and crazy,
when depression is standing as an epidemic,
when people like Assange and Snowden are stripped off their freedoms,
when war criminals roam freely giving speeches on peace,
when the Yemenis cry for help and nobody listens,
when reality is ignored to keep the illusions in place,
when everyone’s addicted to dopamine hits,
when the entire house is no fire and we are busy decorating our little rooms,
when relationships are formed like business deals,
when everyone is so lonely that PornHub becomes their best friend,
when everyone is forced to do certain things to be considered worthwhile,
when everyone is on the pills of happiness,
when everyone is so miserable that they sedate themselves into a coma to never experience their misery,
when our actions drive us toward total destruction,
when darkness is so loved that merely a talk of light is silenced,
but behind everything lurks some hope.
There’s hope
that one day we’ll live in harmony with each other,
that every animal will have the right to live,
that oceans will breathe again,
that consumption will not be seen as the road to happiness,
that the idea of universal brotherhood will become a reality,
that we will start simplifying the simple things that were made complicated,
that profit won’t be the prime driver of decision-making,
that we will understand what love is,
that we will learn how the relationships are to be formed,
that the sun setting on humanity might rise up again,
that we will free ourselves from the bondages of our own making,
that Buddha will illuminate everyone.
When that happens
we will know what life is,
we will know how to perceive reality,
we will know we had unnecessarily messed up so many things,
we will understand what Buddha and Jesus meant,
we will drastically reorganize our priorities,
we will not live in imaginary boundaries,
we will see beauty in everything,
and only then…..
Everything will be fine.
