ISSUE #104: What the "Free Speech" in the West is all about?
Living in a Western liberal democracy state people are convinced that they have the freedom of speech that the residents of Russia or China strive for.
In the Western liberal democracy, freedom of speech means you are free to think what the TV man is telling you to think and free to say what the TV man is telling you to say. It’s a coincidence that your opinion about everything perfectly aligns with the interests of the US empire.
In the Western liberal democracy, you are free to criticize the policies whose criticism doesn’t threaten the existence of the murderous US empire, but you don’t even think about criticizing and protesting against the ones upon which the empire is built.
Freedom of speech in the Western world means you are free to criticize the abuses of your government, and the press makes sure you never do so. It also means facing criticism from the empire simps when you start to criticize the abuses of your government.
It means having the freedom to call your President “Drumpf” or “Brandon” but not having the freedom to know who makes the decisions that their elected officials announce on the TV. It means telling the elected officials they are not doing a good job while having the illusion that they are the ones calling the shots.
The Westerners are marinated in the US empire propaganda from day one, and the longer they soak their minds in the propaganda marination, the more they believe their government is on the right side in every conflict, which automatically makes the US-targeted nations like Russia or China look evil.
The Westerners think they are grateful for being born in a country where they are free to think whatever they want, without ever realizing that what they are thinking is carefully curated by the imperial narrative through the TV and Silicon Valley.
Being free to crack a joke on President’s hair or calling him a dementia patient is great according to the Westerners while they ignore the fact that it doesn’t threaten or challenge the status quo in any way, shape, or form.
The constant propaganda of the Western liberal democracies makes people prefer capitalism, support their foreign policies, hate Russia or China, and it also makes them believe that they are doing so without being propagandized. That’s exactly how propaganda works.
“Russia and China are evil because it’s all over the media,” is like saying “Walking and bicycling is bad because it’s on every car company’s website.” The thought that “bicycling is bad” is less likely to be an independent thought and more likely to be a propagandistic thought planted into your mind by the car companies for their benefit.
Bicycling is not bad, but there is someone who benefits from you believing otherwise. Russia and China are not a threat to world peace, but there is someone who benefits from you believing otherwise. When you start looking at the situation like this, only then can you call yourself a free thinker, until then, you are just a useful idiot for either a car company or the US empire.
