“We cannot talk about "Switzerland of the future" - probably, our state will be able to be like this a long time after. But we will definitely become a "big Israel" with its own face.”
“We will not be surprised that we will have representatives of the Armed Forces or the National Guard in all institutions, supermarkets, cinemas, there will be people with weapons.”
- said the man who regularly appears on the Western TV screens wearing an olive green tee-shirt.
So, neutrality is out of discussion in Zelensky’s future plan for Ukraine, because that’s not what you envision when you are a puppet of the most powerful nation on the planet and happen to be right next door to its one of the biggest enemies.
Being like Israel is the way forward for Ukraine. If my memory serves me well, isn’t Israel the same country that Amnesty International once described as an “apartheid” state? The one that’s illegally occupying someone else’s land?
You might wonder why Israel is the model country for Ukraine, but you don’t need to, because within 48 hours of Zelensky uttering these words, the Atlantic Council - which is a NATO think-tank - released a “road map” penned by Daniel B. Shapiro, a former US ambassador to Israel.
“By adapting their country’s mindset to mirror aspects of Israel’s approach to chronic security challenges, Ukrainian officials can tackle critical national-security challenges with confidence and build a similarly resilient state,” wrote Shapiro.
He portrayed Israelis to be galaxy-brained humans who managed to make their country a surveillance technology hub and opined that Ukraine needs to take help from Israel’s “high tech innovation” both in the military and intelligence sector. He did all this while conveniently ignoring the subsidizing of its military with American taxpayers’ money which amounts to billions of dollars per year.
The main objective of the Israel model for Ukraine is not to protect it from Russia, but to project the US power towards Russia, a country that the US wants to “weaken.” Just like the US funds Israel to attack the dissident nations in the Middle East, constant funding of Ukraine is needed to destabilize Russia, at least in the US’s imaginary world.
At the Hudson Institute speech in June, Mike Pompeo named Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan as the “lighthouses of liberty” through which the US can enact its geostrategic interests and all three “lighthouses” happen to be right next door to America’s biggest enemies. Is this a coincidence or a carefully designed geostrategic plan to destabilize the enemies? It’s up to you to decide which one it is, but what I think is that when you are talking about the most powerful empire in mankind’s history, it sure can’t be the former.
The US appears to care about Ukraine or Taiwan not because it loves the people living there but because it hates the countries they are right next door to and uses them as geostrategic pawns to counter its geostrategic rivals. You might have heard the saying that goes, “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer,” and this whole talk about turning Ukraine into a big Israel is an attempt of the US empire to enact it on a geopolitical level.
The path to turn Ukraine into an Israel-like country was already imagined in 2014 when the US orchestrated a coup over there, and it’s been paved since then.
Warmongers gonna benefit
Another reason the NATO think tank wants Ukraine to be a permanent military fortress is that its donors, like Lockheed Martin and Raytheon, stand to benefit tremendously from this push.
This is one of the craziest things happening in the world today. The corrupt think tanks that influence the foreign policy of the most murderous nation on this planet are funded by corporations that benefit directly from the murderous nature of the US empire. If you allow the weapon manufacturers to influence the foreign policy of your nation, they are going to use that influence to promote war. This is not even up for a debate.
The weapons manufacturers have already benefited from the war in Ukraine, and Zelensky’s and Shapiro’s vision for Ukraine is going to add another billions of dollars into their already ballooned bank accounts. So, there’s no reason to believe that their funded think tanks won’t push for “a big Israel” narrative for Ukraine.
