ISSUE #66: Iran's tit-for-tat policy against oil-thirsty US.
The US's days of bullying other nations without consequences passed a long time ago.
If there’s one thing that the US empire is perfect at, it’s looting and stealing other countries’ resources. You might think it’s an exaggeration, but it’s not. They once again showed the world how deeply rooted they are in stealing when, not even a week ago, the US along with Greece seized Iran’s oil tanker.
This is what we call theft or “ a clear example of piracy,” as quoted by Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization. The supporters of the US imperialism can call it whatever they want but when you take away another person’s or country’s belongings without permission or any legal right that’s an act of stealing.
It shows us once again how hypocrite the US empire is. Back in 2018, when Russia seized three Ukrainian navy ships then-US Ambassador, Nikki Haley, called it a “violation under international law.” “It is an arrogant act that the international community must condemn and will never accept,” the US Ambassador added.
After the seizure of Iranian oil tanker, I didn’t hear the US Ambassador calling it a “violation of International Law.” Did you? That’s because according to the most powerful empire in human history, the international law is only to be followed by the nations that are not the puppet of the US empire, which completely undermines the entire concept of law.
Law is supposed to be equal for everybody and if it’s not, call it anything but law.
That’s why the West has been pushing hard for “rules-based international order.” What rules, you may ask. The rules that satisfy and promote the interests of the US empire and maintains the US’s unipolar hegemony over the world.
Tehran had warned that it would take “punitive action” against Greece for assisting the US. This is what Iran did in response:
This is what we call “tit-for-tat.” That’s a typical “fuck around and find out” response from Iran.
This is not something that happened for the first time. This is a replay of what happened in 2019 when Britain seized Iranian oil tanker and in response, Iran seized British oil tanker. The reason they did it in 2019 was because Iran was sending oil to Syria, which was placed under sanctions by the West and no country is allowed to trade with a country sanctioned by the US in particular or the West in general as if everyone has to agree with the decisions of the US.
In another instance, the US sold the seized Iranian oil for more than $40 million. They literally sold another country’s commodity without permission. Anyone in their right mind knows what to call it.
Imagine for a moment what the US would do if, let’s say, Russia seized its oil and sold it too? Did the word “war” come into your mind? Because that’s exactly how the US would react.
I also want you to look at how the Western state-owned media reacted when Iran did exactly what the US did to Iran’s oil tankers:
“Tensions rise because of Iran.”
They are trying to portray the whole situation as if Iran is solely responsible for tensions in the Gulf region. They are like: It’s OK for the US and Greece to seize Iranian oil in the first place but Iran doing the same in response leads to “rising tensions” in the region.
