ISSUE #82: A few thoughts on the plight of humanity.
I looked around the world with both eyes opened, and this is what I saw:
1 person raked in a billion dollars, while a billion were living on 1 dollar a day.
The CEO of a weapons manufacturing company congratulated his team for record profits, while a mother who lost her child to a missile cursed him and his team.
A person doubled the stack of real estate papers, while millions were sleeping with the sky as their blanket and ground as their bedsheet.
We were told that we have freedom of speech and freedom of the press, and Julian Assange took it seriously.
We evolved for 3 billion years and came out as victorious species only to become a catalyst for our own extinction either via climate catastrophe or nuclear apocalypse.
You looked at the clear blue sky with a smiling face and daydreamed, while the children in the victim countries of the US drone strikes widened their eyes and stretched lips backward when the sky turned bright.
A priest defended the religion calling it a force for peace, while two religious groups were killing each other.
Corporations threw away heartbreaking amount of edible food, while heartbreaking number of stomachs were cleaving to backbones.
A teacher taught children to vote for a societal change, while Albert Einstein’s statement, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results,” was hanging on the wall.
The elites who bombed, tortured, killed, and maimed innocent people were being rewarded, while the revolutionaries were being thrown into prisons that later turned into their tombs.
Big Pharma was turning profit after profit every quarter, while 15,000 children were dying because of preventable diseases every day.
Media saw all this and brainwashed the public into believing that their government and corporations were doing a great job.
Is this the world that we want to pass on to our future generations, OR are we doing something to make a change?
