ISSUE #92: Gaza under attack.
Israel - a country whose foundation was laid with the blood and tears of Palestinians - has started bombing Gaza, again.
Gaza and the West Bank - these are the two places where most of the Palestinians live. Both are densely populated areas illegally occupied by the Israelis.
According to reports, around 24 Palestinians have died, among them 6 were children, and more than 200 have been injured. See for yourself what their airstrike has turned a residential building into:
Why did this happen?
The Israeli army announced on Saturday that it was preparing for a raid on Gaza that may “last a week,” and it was a “preemptive” operation because they said they have an intelligence that Palestine Islamic Jihad (PIJ), a group founded in 1981 by Palestinian students, was going to attack Israel.
Based on their intelligence that we nothing about, they attacked a residential building in which the group’s commander Taysir al-Jabari was staying. Yes, you read that correctly. The so-called “most moral army” in the world air-striked a residential building, that killed 11 innocent civilians and wounded many more, just to get one guy.
You are not “moral” when you kill innocent civilians in the name of “fighting terrorism.”
You are not “moral” when you illegally occupy someone’s land.
You are not “moral” when lock the Palestinians in an open prison.
You are not “moral” when you treat Palestinians as the second-class citizens or as if they are not humans.
It’s amazing how they always justify their actions by saying that the opponent was going to attack us so we attacked them first. This is the “War on Terror” in a nutshell. It’s like saying, “I murdered a guy because I thought he was going to murder me,” or like the cops saying, “We are going to arrest you because we think you are going to commit a crime in the future.” Does this make any sense?
Gaza is literally an open prison, and let me tell you how it’s like to be living there:
If you are 9-year-old child, you have survived three major Israeli attacks.
20-hours long blackouts.
You frequently see destroyed homes and dead civilians around.
Students can’t get out to study abroad and the players can’t leave as well.
You can’t keep your food fresh, and can’t access clean drinking water.
Farmers and fishermen are often fired at by the Israeli forces.
Exports have been restricted which has devastated Gaza’s economy.
Here’s what the PM of Israel had to say about the situation:
“Israel carried out a precise counter-terrorism operation against an immediate threat. Our fight is not with the people of Gaza. [Palestinian] Islamic Jihad is an Iranian proxy that wants to destroy the state of Israel and kill innocent Israelis.”
Let me put it this way: “The state of Israel is a European proxy that wants to destroy the state of Plaestine and kill innocent Palestinians.” This one sounds more correct and more connected to reality if you take a look at how the state of Israel came into being.
If portraying the aggressor as a victim is an art, the State of Israel is definitely a piccasso of it. They have mastered the art of painting themselves as the victims while they are the ones who are illegally occupying the land of Palestine, and they are the ones who are the source of terror in the region.
And the Western media is silent, AS ALWAYS. They are not silent about the conflict between PIJ and the Israeli forces but they are silent about what causes the conflict. They always try to paint the situation as if it’s difficult to pick who is the aggressor by using the word-salads like below:
If a thief comes to your house, and attacks you and your property, how would you react? You would try to protect yourself and your property, right? That exactly what the Palestinians are doing, but the word-salad being used by the media makes it sound like both sides are aggressor.
Where is the “freedom and democracy” for Palestinians?
They only value “freedom and democracy” when it serves their interests, when it pushes their evil agendas forward. Their hypocrisy gets displayed every now and then on the global world, but their propaganda power is so strong that the public doesn’t even become aware of their hypocrisy, let alone speak against it.
The Israel-Palestine conflict is confusing when you listen to the mainstream media, but it’s as clear as day when you see it as “oppressed vs oppressor” or “colonizer vs colonized”, and the Palestinians are neither oppressors nor colonizers.
The Palestinians are not “terrorists” exactly for the same reason that you won’t be a terrorist if you defend yourself and your property against an aggressor. Terrorism is when you illegally occupy someone’s land, not when you fight for your land.
