It's not "Russia vs. Ukraine", stupid.
If you are an individual with the ability to use the Internet and process information critically, believing that the war in Ukraine involves only two parties is the most childish thing you can believe in your life. The mainstream way of looking at the war from the outside is that there is no third party involved that stands to gain the most from the continuation of the war and this, along with other mainstream views such as the invasion was unprovoked, is an impediment to bringing an end to the war.
If they can convince you that there is no third party involved, they can also convince you that only Russia can end this war by leaving Ukraine, as already shown by Finland PM’s “the way out of this conflict is for Russia to leave Ukraine,” and Mark Ruffalo’s “It’s so simple. Russia, leave Ukraine and it’s over. World peace. Ukraine can’t leave Ukraine. Russia can always go back to Russia,” word salad.
Although it’s not as black and white as they try to portray it.
The third party involved is none other than the one that provoked the war in the first place - the US and its vassal states. The fact that the US is benefitting from the war in more than one way is more than enough for it to make sure that the war continues.
It gets to make Europe less dependent on Russia on the energy front and more dependent on the US, as a result, profiting from the energy exports to the continent.
It gets an excuse to increase internet censorship in the name of Russian disinformation, and paint its rival as an evil state on the global stage as nothing compares to the US when it comes to shaping world public opinion.
Its military-industrial complex gets to grab huge profits as the weapons manufacturers receive contracts from the government to manufacture ammunition and send them to Ukraine for use.
It isn’t like the US doesn’t want the war to end, it just doesn’t want it to end with a Russian victory. As long as the prospect of a Russian victory remains, NATO will continue dismantling peace talks and pouring weapons into the war zone and NATO’s Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, expressed these concerns implicitly, a month after one of the organization’s top official said NATO wasn’t at war with Russia.
“If Putin wins, it will be a defeat for all of us,” as if he is a satanic pedophile whose victory means a defeat for humanity when in reality, it means a defeat for NATO, and when a violent, provocative, tyrannical, and offensive alliance is defeated, it isn’t a “defeat for all of us” but a victory for all of us.
That’s why, after a little research, you’d find Ukraine might not be in NATO, but NATO definitely is in Ukraine. You’re no longer on the sidelines watching two warring parties fight with each other when seeing one of them “weakened” becomes your personal goal.
Russia, since the early days of the war, has been claiming that the West is involved directly in Ukraine and these concerns were further stressed by Putin in his speech during the September mobilization of the Russian forces.
“Today our armed forces…..[are]…..fighting not only against neo-Nazi units but actually the entire military machine of the collective West.”
The Russian Foreign Minister, Lavrov, said in the latest interview that the evidence of the “regular servicemen” of the Western militaries “working on the ground” is multiplying.
Here’s David Petraeus, former director of the CIA, saying it explicitly:
In a 25 June article, NYT said “some C.I.A. personnel have continued to operate in the country secretly, mostly in the capital, Kyiv, directing much of the vast amounts of intelligence the United States is sharing with Ukrainian forces.”
“At the same time, a few dozen commandos from other NATO countries, including Britain, France, Canada and Lithuania, also have been working inside Ukraine,” the article continued.
The US's past records also make the Russian claims appear to be true:
The US has fought many undeclared wars such as the bombing campaign in Cambodia, which killed 100,000 people.
The phrase "leading from behind" became quite famous when the US ignited the Libyan social unrest.
The Intercept report shows that at least 14 military operations were active in the Middle East and the Asia Pacific region in 2020 and that between 2017 and 2020, US commandos carried out 23 separate operations.
It seems that the US has found a way to fight its enemies without actually declaring war. There is no reason to NOT believe that NATO is balls-deep into the war in Ukraine. Be it the US’s past history, NATO’s current rhetoric, or the available evidence - all point toward NATO being in Ukraine.
There is no excuse to keep dismissing the peace proposals Moscow keeps putting forwards other than NATO being involved in the war. If NATO is on the sidelines providing weaponry to the Ukraine army on the grounds that it would end the war, why would it keep discrediting the peaceful way to end the war?
The way to end this war is not for Russia to leave Ukraine because A) the war is not unprovoked and B) it doesn’t involve Russia and Ukraine alone. For the war to end, the third party involved which also happens to be the one that provoked the war has to wise up and come to the negotiation table.
