Is supporting any war virtuous? (DISCUSSION THREAD #1)

Yesterday, I posted a tweet which read:
“I repeat it again that I do not side with any party in this conflict between Russia and Ukraine, for choosing sides in a war means choosing more destruction, pain, suffering, and death. Supporting or cheering for one side is understandable as long as it’s about a sport, but war is not a sport; it’s the worst thing that a nation collectively can go through. Anyone who thinks it's fun choosing sides in a war and babbling about which side is stronger has not himself seen the horrors of a war or been through one.”
What do you all think? Can there be a war that’s virtuous enough to be supported? Or do you believe that the very act of war must be opposed everytime?
