I know you are wondering why I used the word “authentic” in the title and I also know that the first image that would come to your mind after hearing the word “spirituality” would be of a person sitting close-eyed in a locked room or under the tree. Why is it so?
Yes, Jesus is one of the very few beings who transcended the ego, who preached authentic spirituality. No doubt about it.
But authentic spirituality has no authority, it is a personal experience, and wanting an authority is what the ego-driven mind do.
We are driven by ego and therefore, we must be very careful when it interferes into our search for Truth.
When, instead of considering the thing being said, our mind worries about why the leader of my group is not being quoted, then we should understand that that's ego speaking. Because we have identified ourselves with the names of the spiritual leaders, not their teachings. That's why the ego doesn't like it when the things it is identified with doesn't get a mention.
It's a sign of the mind that's sectarian (ego-driven), not spiritual.
If I want to learn mathematics, then I must learn it from anywhere possible without any biases, but if I say that I want to learn mathematics from that teacher only, then that signifies that I am not interested in learning math but only whether it's coming from my favorite author (that's a sign of ego.)
No mention of Jesus???

Harry, I'm 60 and know a bit about life, but, ehhh, gee, thanks for the lesson.
Sorry madam, but this mindset that "I'm older therefore I know more" has no logical base.
